According to history books, our building, Vingårdsstræde 6, was built as a farm in the middle of the 15th century. Even then, Copenhagen was a thriving city known for its prosperous traders and beautiful buildings.
In 1510, King Hans, the King of Denmark and Norway at the time, used the farm to grow wine grapes. He probably had no idea that centuries later, the same place centuries later would house a restaurant known for its ambitious wine list.
At Kong Hans Kælder, we mainly serve classic wines, but the wine cellar has a wide range to accommodate all preferences.
Let us know if you have any special wishes, and we will happily do our very best to fulfil them.
